Permaculture Diploma Design Support Day, 1/8/10 south London

I'm hoping to organise and run a Permaculture Diploma Design Support Day on August 1 as the latest in a series of workshops and events, in particular responding to requests for support from the south London area, but open to anybody who is working towards their Permaculture Diploma. Intended to build capacity and resilience for the London and South East Permaculture Diploma community, this Design Support day offers an opportunity to hone your design skills with both mentor and peer support. It is intended to provide positive inputs and feedback for both those just starting out on their Diploma pathway as well as those who feel close to accreditation.

Some of the aims and outcomes of this tutorial day will be to:

Answer any questions around the Diploma process.

Clarify the permaculture design process and revisit the permaculture ethics, principles and design methods.

Share ideas and give and receive valuable feedback on each others design work.

Create and build upon existing mutual support networks to help keep you on track.

Provide clarity on the criteria and the process leading to accreditation.

The core of a Design Support Day is to provide you with the feedback you need to improve and develop your skills as a permaculture designer working towards your Diploma. It is suggested that you bring along two or three designs from your portfolio (these projects can be at any stage; one or two might be fairly well developed, some, particularly if you are just starting out, might still be little more than rough ideas) which will be evaluated in order to give you new insights and understanding of the design process. You will also have the opportunity to gain extra ideas and inspiration from your peers, and have a chance to form or develop Action Learning Guilds that can provide you with mutual support on a regular ongoing basis.

If you are well into your Diploma pathway, you’ll be looking ahead to accrediting. If you are just started, it’s helpful to know where you’re heading, so we will also spend some time looking at the Criteria for Accreditation and answering any questions you may have around these.

This day is open to anybody who is working towards their Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design. Suggested cost £50 per person plus bring vegetarian food to share. Places limited to 4 maximum. Venue details will be given on booking as this is a private residential address.
